Cincinnati Super Jobs
Cincinnati SuperJobs is a one-stop job center where partners come together under one roof to serve employers and individuals. They connect with free services for job seekers and employers, made possible through the federal Workforce Investment Act and the U.S. Department of Labor. Super Jobs is put together through The Southwest Ohio Region Workforce Investment Board.
Cincinnati Workforce Network
The Greater Cincinnati Workforce Network is an ambitious regional partnership of philanthropy, government, employers, education, and community organizations that aims to:
- Help employers find and retain skilled employees; and
- Help low skill, low-income residents further their education and get good jobs.
Entrepreneurial Start-ups
Hamilton County Development Company (HCDC)
HCDC is a full-service economic development agency having a public purpose to retain and create jobs, and improve the local economy. Three program areas provide a one-stop shop for business financing, community economic development, and assistance for entrepreneurs. They provide services in a high loan volume SBA Certified Development Company, large urban/county Economic Development Office and an award-winning business incubation program. They serve as the regional connector to these programs.
Hamilton County Development Company Business Center
Hamilton County Business Center, Inc. (HCBC) is a nationally recognized business incubation program that helps Greater Cincinnati entrepreneurs launch and build successful companies. HCBC is a mixed use, technology focused incubation program that caters to those entrepreneurs who are starting up an innovative and growing business. Both traditional and technology businesses are welcome at HCBC.
S.C.O.R.E
SCORE "Counselors to America's Small Business" is a nonprofit association dedicated to educating entrepreneurs and helping small business start, grow and succeed nationwide. SCORE is a resource partner with the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA).
University of Cincinnati Center for Entrepreneurship Education and Research
The University of Cincinnati Center for Entrepreneurship Education and Research's main mission is to “…remove barriers and create gateways,” for all entrepreneurs – especially student entrepreneurs. Entrepreneurship Center programs and initiatives, including its Small Business Institute and rigorous curriculum and competitions, among others, facilitate the entrepreneurial journey.
University of Cincinnati Small Business Development Center
Business@UC Centers provide valued resources to our constituents – including the Greater Cincinnati community, our corporate and international partners, and academic fields. Guided by their distinctive missions, centers may be organized around interdisciplinary issues, such as entrepreneurship, real estate and total quality management. Yet others focus on target constituents, such as those seeking executive education or managing family businesses.
University of Cincinnati Small Business Institute
University of Cincinnati Small Business Institute facilitates a mutual exchange between students who want to learn more about small business and entrepreneurship, and organizations that want to further their success. The University of Cincinnati Small Business Institute® operates a field case study program that offers no-cost business counseling to tri-state organizations by College of Business students under direct faculty supervision.
Xavier Entrepreneurial Center
The Williams College of Business center of excellence comprised of faculty, students, and executive advisers who provide education, training, and real-life business experiences to create, launch, sustain, and grow student and community-run businesses on a global scale.
Venture Capital
CincyTechUSA
CincyTech is a public-private partnership whose mission is to invest in high-growth startup technology companies in Southwest Ohio. They do this through management assistance, seed-capital investments and connections to partners. Resources available include:
- Connections to a network of resources for assistance.
- Management assistance provided by a team of executives-in-residence and investment associates to help accelerate the growth of promising technology companies.
- Seed-stage investments through a $10.4 million seed fund.
- Capital formation assistance provided by an investment development director, who works with clients to access follow-on rounds of capital from angel and private-equity investors regionally and nationally.
- Imagining Grants to prove the potential of technologies developed at regional research centers to be commercialized by startup companies. Grants also will be available to launch new companies based on orphaned technology at established regional companies.
Greater Cincinnati Venture Association
Greater Cincinnati Venture Association (GCVA) focuses on entrepreneurs and startup opportunities and sustain the entrepreneurial culture in the region.
Community Development Venture Capital Alliance
Community Development Venture Capital Alliance (CDVCA) is the network for the rapidly growing field of community development venture capital (CDVC) investing. CDVC funds provide equity capital to businesses in underinvested markets, seeking market-rate financial returns, as well as the creation of good jobs, wealth, and entrepreneurial capacity. CDVCA promotes the field by combining advocacy, education, communications, and best-practice dissemination through conferences and workshops. CDVCA makes its expertise available to CDVC funds by providing consulting services and technical assistance.
