Weekly Update - October 17, 2007
MAIN STREET UPDATE
CONSTRUCTION UPDATE
ACCOMPLISHED
- The base course of asphalt was paved for on-street parking areas along Main Street and the alley behind 111 Reading Road.
- Crews installed sidewalks and are pouring driveway aprons in various locations.
- Masonry blocks for the plaza walls, as well as for the wall along the parking lot adjacent to 111 Reading Road, have been completed.
- Cement for the pavers was poured for the area in front of the walls of the plaza.
- Time Warner Cable and Duke Energy continue to pull wire for underground cable.
- Conduit has been installed for the traffic signal.
- Several underground electric hook ups were completed for the 100 to 200 blocks of Main Street.
- Workers have prepped the sidewalk/cement for the installation of the pavers.
OUTLOOK FOR THE NEXT TWO WEEKS:
- Workers will begin installing the stone facing on the walls of the plaza.
- Pavers will be installed in the strips along the sidewalk areas.
- Conduit installation will continue in the plaza area for street lights and the irrigation system.
- Trench drains and concrete benches will be installed for the plaza area.
- Electrical services will continue to be transferred from overhead to underground for some individual buildings.
MASON-MONTGOMERY ROAD PROJECT
ACCOMPLISHED THUS FAR:
- Conduit installation for the streetlights continues to be installed.
- Paving work was completed on West North Street. Crews are working on re-opening the street for westward one-way traffic.
- Paving work on the bike path was completed.
- Sidewalks, driveway aprons, and curb ramps were poured in several locations.
- Restoration work continued. Crews are continuing to seed disturbed areas.
- Time Warner Cable continued cable line installation.
OUTLOOK FOR NEXT TWO WEEKS:
- Pouring of driveways, sidewalks, and aprons will be completed.
- The restoration and seeding of disturbed areas will continue.
- Street light foundation installation will begin.
- Time Warner Cable should finish their cable relocation. Once complete, Embarq will begin relocating their phone lines to the new poles.
