MAIN STREET UPDATE
CONSTRUCTION UPDATE
ACCOMPLISHED
- Paver installation work continued on the plaza and in bands of the sidewalk areas.
- Sidewalk installation continued in front of the Embarq building and in the plaza area.
- Crews completed work on the stone fascia for all of the walls in the plaza area.
- Installation work continued on the irrigation system.
- Embarq began pulling cable for underground conduits.
- Workers continued electric line upgrades on South West Street and Reading Road.
OUTLOOK FOR THE NEXT TWO WEEKS:
- Paver installation will continue in the plaza area.
- Sidewalk installation will continue in the plaza area and some miscellaneous sections throughout the project.
- Irrigation installation will continue for the planting areas in the plaza.
- Crews will install landscaping in the plaza planting areas.
NOTES OF INTEREST:
- There will be a 2-week period of inactivity during the Christmas and New Year’s holidays. The next downtown update will be January 9, 2008.
- Work will resume in January with a reduced work force and as weather conditions allow.
MASON-MONTGOMERY ROAD PROJECT
ACCOMPLISHED THUS FAR:
- Duke Energy has pulled the remaining utility poles.
- Lighting system installation continued.
- Crews have re-opened East North Street to traffic.
OUTLOOK FOR NEXT TWO WEEKS:
- Lighting system installation will continue.
