Weekly Update - July 25, 2007
MAIN STREET UPDATE
CONSTRUCTION UPDATE
ACCOMPLISHED
- Underground conduit and utility pull box installation has been completed on the south side of Main Street from Reading Road to Mason-Montgomery Road.
- Workers have installed a trench drain in front of the floral shop.
- Grading for roadway realignment has started.
- Storm sewer installation has been completed except for one section near the plaza area.
OUTLOOK FOR THE NEXT TWO WEEKS:
- Duke Energy will be setting the utility poles.
- Work will continue on the conduit and utility pull box installation on the north side of Main Street.
- Workers will begin excavating for the roadway and curbs.
OTHER ISSUES:
- There is a duathlon occurring on Sunday. The bike portion of the event will start at Mason Municipal Center and travel north on Mason-Montgomery Road. Police will be coordinating detours around the closed section of Mason-Montgomery Road.
MASON-MONTGOMERY ROAD PROJECT
ACCOMPLISHED THUS FAR:
- Continued storm sewer work.
- Hydrants have been relocated and the water line work is now complete.
- Began excavation for roadway widening and East North Street realignment.
OUTLOOK FOR NEXT TWO WEEKS:
- Due to the widening of the road, Duke Energy will begin installing new poles.
- Gas line relocation will begin.
- Workers will continue the excavation for the roadway and curbs.
