Weekly Update - August 1, 2007
MAIN STREET UPDATE
CONSTRUCTION UPDATE
ACCOMPLISHED
- Crews installed underground conduit and pull boxes on the north side of Main Street from Mason-Montgomery Road to North East Street. They also installed underground conduit from South West Street to Main Street (adjacent to Fifth Third Bank).
- Two large underground vaults for telephone/fiber optics have been set. One vault is located at the corner of South Forest Avenue and Main Street. The second is located at the corner of North West and Main streets.
- Grading of the new roadway is nearly complete.
- Foundations for the new traffic signal poles have been installed.
OUTLOOK FOR THE NEXT TWO WEEKS:
- Installation of the conduit for the underground utilities will continue on the north side of Main Street from North East Street to Forest Avenue.
- Duke Energy will be setting poles to allow for the transition of the utilities from overhead to underground.
- Crews will continue excavation for sub grade and curbs.
OTHER ISSUES:
- The Duathlon took place on Sunday. The bike portion of the event started at the Municipal Center and traveled north on Mason-Montgomery Road. With Mason-Montgomery Road closed, the bikers were detoured east on Church Street and north on North East Street. During the time of the race, northbound vehicular traffic was detoured west on Main, north on Mason Road, and then east back to Mason-Montgomery Road. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have cause and thank you for your patience.
- This past week, there were two water leaks on West North Street requiring a shutdown of the water main. Greater Cincinnati Water Works made the necessary repairs.
MASON-MONTGOMERY ROAD PROJECT
ACCOMPLISHED THUS FAR:
- Mainline has completed a majority of the new storm sewer system.
- The gas line relocation started late last week.
- Workers continued excavation for roadway widening.
OUTLOOK FOR NEXT TWO WEEKS:
- Duke Energy will be setting the new poles.
- Crews will continue installing the new gas line.
- Workers will continue excavation for sub grade and curbs. Once grading is completed, they will begin installing curbs and gutters.
