Weekly Update - August 29, 2007
MAIN STREET UPDATE
CONSTRUCTION UPDATE
ACCOMPLISHED
- Curbs were installed along West Main Street near Forest Avenue.
- Relocation of the sanitary sewer and gas line began for the new plaza area.
- The base course of asphalt was installed at the new intersection near the old Speedway lot.
- The underground conduit installation from the pull boxes to all of the individual buildings was completed.
- Installation began on the foundations for the new streetlights.
- Duke Energy began setting the poles to allow for the transition of utilities from overhead to underground.
OUTLOOK FOR THE NEXT TWO WEEKS:
- Installation of the curbing and base asphalt in the downtown area will be completed.
- Sanitary sewer and gas line relocation will be completed.
- Preparation work will begin on the grade for sidewalks and pavers.
- Installation of the storm sewers will be completed.
- Duke Energy will finish setting the new poles.
OTHER NOTES:
- Due to the Labor Day holiday, the contractor will be off Saturday and Monday.
- Since school started last Wednesday, the city has been monitoring morning and afternoon traffic to maintain flow.
MASON-MONTGOMERY ROAD PROJECT
ACCOMPLISHED THUS FAR:
- The gas main was installed. Crews are awaiting an air test prior to tying it in.
- The base course of asphalt was installed on the east side of Mason-Montgomery Road.
- Excavation and grading work continued on the west side of Mason-Montgomery Road.
- Duke Energy has started the relocation of the overhead electric lines to the new utility poles.
OUTLOOK FOR NEXT TWO WEEKS:
- Tie-ins and services for the gas line will be completed.
- Installation of the conduit will continue for the new street lighting.
- The installation of sidewalks will begin.
- Cincinnati Bell, Time Warner, and Embarq will relocate their overhead lines to the new utility poles.
