Weekly Update - August 8, 2007
MAIN STREET UPDATE
CONSTRUCTION UPDATE
ACCOMPLISHED
- Excavation work was completed on the south side of Main Street between Reading and Mason-Montgomery roads and on the north side between Mason-Montgomery Road and North East Street.
- Stone base has been installed for the curbs on the south side of Main Street between Reading and Mason-Montgomery roads.
- Conduit has been installed on both sides of Main Street from Reading Road west to Muennich's Garage.
OUTLOOK FOR THE NEXT TWO WEEKS:
- Excavation for curbs will continue on the north side of Main Street from North East Street to Reading Road.
- Stone base for curbs will be installed on the north and south sides of Main Street.
- Installation of curbs on the south side of Main Street and Reading Road will begin.
- Installation of conduit will continue from Main Street to Forest Avenue.
- Duke Energy will be setting poles to allow for the transition of the utilities from overhead to underground.
OTHER ISSUES:
- On Friday August 3, Mainline's crews damaged the water service for 111 Reading Road, the retail center located on the corner of Reading Road and 1st Avenue (next to the old Speedway lot). All of the businesses in the center were alerted. Greater Cincinnati Water Works temporarily shut down the water main to make the necessary repairs.
- On Tuesday August 7, Duke Energy's gas line crew hit the water main at the corner of North Street and Mason-Montgomery Road. Greater Cincinnati Water Works was contacted. They then made the necessary repairs. Three houses were affected by the shutdown.
MASON-MONTGOMERY ROAD PROJECT
ACCOMPLISHED THUS FAR:
- Duke Gas installed the gas main between Church and North streets.
- Excavation continued for the roadway widening.
- Installation work began on the stone base in preparation for curbs.
OUTLOOK FOR NEXT TWO WEEKS:
- Installation of the curbs on the east side of Mason-Montgomery Road will begin.
- Duke Gas will continue with the installation of the new gas main.
- Installation will begin on the conduit for the new street lighting.
