Weekly Update - January 9, 2008

CONSTRUCTION NEWS:

  • Mainline Construction continued paver installation in the plaza area between the Christmas and New Year holidays. Work will continue as weather allows.
  • Mainline Construction will install the remaining landscaping adjacent to the Fifth Third Bank parking lot this week.
  • The coping will be installed on the stone fascia walls over the next few weeks.
  • Embarq continued their cable installation work and has begun some preliminary splicing of the new lines. Work will be ongoing.
  • Embarq has replaced an old utility pole on North West Street that was found to be rotten.
  • Duke Energy has been working on North West and Church streets. They also have resumed removing some of the old overhead lines on Main Street.

NOTES OF INTEREST:

  • Fun Fact: Crews will install approximately 28,000 square feet of paver bricks for the project. That is approximately 6200 pavers installed by hand, with a total weigh over 15 tons!
  • Greater Cincinnati Water Works is scheduled to repair a water leak on N. West Street this week. Water service may be disrupted for a few residents on N. West Street while this work occurs.
