Weekly Update - February 27, 2008

CONSTRUCTION NEWS:

  • Crews continue to install the traffic signal at Reading Road and West Main Street.
  • Installation of the downtown streetlights has begun. Installation will continue for the next couple of weeks. Wiring will continue as weather permits.

NOTES OF INTEREST:

  • Due to the obvious weather conditions, crews were unable to work on a couple of days last week. Work will recommence when deemed safe and will continue to be limited for the next several weeks. Work on the traffic signal and street lighting will continue as weather allows.
  • Fun Fact: Academy Award and Golden Globe winning actor George Clooney resided in Mason from 1968 to 1975 and attended Western Row and St. Susanna schools. Clooney would later try out with the Cincinnati Reds in 1977, but was not offered a contract.

    This past year, Clooney was nominated for an Oscar and a Golden Globe for his role in the movie “Michael Clayton”. The movie, which Clooney also produced, was nominated for Best Picture.
