Downtown Construction
Weekly Update - March 12, 2008
CONSTRUCTION NEWS:
- Workers continue to install the downtown streetlights.
- Time Warner continues to transfer service over to new lines.
- Embarq continues splicing over to the new lines.
- Crews continue to work on the traffic signal.
NOTES OF INTEREST:
- Due to the obvious weather conditions, crews were unable to work two days last week. Work will continue to be limited for the next several weeks. Work on the traffic signal and street lighting will continue as weather allows.
- Fun Fact: As crews transfer service lines, it is appropriate to note that Mason is part of the Cincinnati media market. Although no broadcast stations are licensed to Mason itself, the city is home to the transmitter site for Clear Channel Communications' WLW (700 Cincinnati) radio station. WLW uses one of only seven remaining Blaw-Knox diamond-shaped towers.
