Roadways Have Been Re-Striped Throughout Entire Project

Weekly Update - March 26, 2008

CONSTRUCTION NEWS:

  • The streetlights on Main Street and Mason-Montgomery Road have all been installed and the contractor is now working on providing power to the lights.
  • The new signal at Reading Road and West Main Street has been completed and is in flash operation. Once the timing for the light has been installed, the signal will be placed into full operation.
  • Mainline has re-striped the roadways throughout the entire project. They also striped in the left turn lane for the new signal.
  • Utility companies will continue working on transferring utilities to the new lines.

  • FUN FACT: The US Census Bureau recently released county estimates. Warren County was named among the nation's top 100 for growth. The county ranked 98th, its population having grown 28.5% in seven years. As of the 2000 city census, Mason's population was 22,016. The city had

    • 8,692 in 1980
    • 5,677 in 1970
    • 4,727 in 1960
    • 1,196 in 1950

    The 1950’s proved to be the decade with the largest growth in population, percentage-wise, coming in at 295%. The latest population estimate is 29,491 for 2006.

    As a comparison, the US population is currently estimated to be 303,707,683.
