Weekly Update - April 16, 2008

CONSTRUCTION NEWS:

  • The lighting controller on North West Street has been completed and is awaiting Duke Energy to connect the power.
  • The lighting controller on North East Street has been set and the contractor is working on wiring the streetlights to the controller.
  • Mainline has resumed paver installation work along Reading Road.
  • Restoration of disturbed areas with top-soil has resumed. Upon completion, these areas will be seeded and mulched.
  • Mainline will be replacing damaged curbs and sidewalks over the next few weeks.
  • The remaining landscaping will be planted within the next few weeks.
  • Time Warner has removed most of their cable lines from the utility poles.
  • KDL has switched fiber optic lines to the underground cable and will be removing old cable.
  • Cincinnati Bell is currently relocating their fiber optic cable.

NOTES OF INTEREST:

  • With the improving weather conditions, crews have now returned to daily work schedules.
  • Fun Fact: The Alverta Green Museum, home of many historical Mason photographs, documents, and artifacts, celebrates its 20-year anniversary this month. The museum is located in a circa 1900 Victorian mansion, serving as a library for historical and genealogical research. It has seven areas open to visitors. The museum is run by the Mason Historical Society, founded in 1979.
