Weekly Update - August 14, 2008
CONSTRUCTION NEWS:
- Gerken Company placed the integrated thermoplastic crosswalk markings for the project.
- Embarq removed a utility pole that was remaining at 315 W. Main St.
NOTES OF INTEREST:
- On Sunday evening, Aug. 17, the City of Mason will mark the completion of its new Main Street and downtown plaza with a public dedication ceremony and community celebration from 7 to 9 p.m. The plaza dedication will begin with a formal ceremony at 7 p.m., followed by a public celebration with live music provided by the Mason Community Band and a local jazz ensemble, and giveaways from downtown Mason merchants. The family-friendly event is free and open to the public.
The event concludes a $5 million construction project, designed to revitalize downtown Mason’s core business district by upgrading utilities and creating a friendly, contemporary environment that would support business growth while also developing a public gathering space for community members to enjoy.
