Hard Target Award

One of the responsibilities of the City of Mason's third shift officers is proactive business checks to prevent crimes such as breaking and entering, criminal damage, and burglary.

As part of these business checks, officers have been noting specific businesses that take extra security measures to make their business a "hard target" for criminals.

Twice each year, the city presents a "Hard Target Award" to a local business that exemplifies the traits of a "Hard Target."

Business security is vital, as businesses are often the target of criminal activity. This award has been created as a way to recognize the recipient for the extra steps they have taken to make their business safe, and as a way for the officers of the City of Mason Police Department to say thank you for assisting them with keeping the City of Mason as safe as possible.

In recognition of their efforts to do everything they can NOT to become a victim of criminal activity, the City of Mason Police Department is proud to announce the following recipients of the Hard Target Award:
