Frequently Asked Questions About Mason's Parks

How do I reserve a picnic shelter?
There are three shelters available for reservation. The Heritage Oak Park shelter accommodates 80 people. While there are two shelters at Pine Hill Lakes Park, the large shelter by the lake is on a first come, first serve basis and is not available for reservation. A smaller shelter, nestled by the trees in the basin of the park's amphitheater, accommodates 30 people and is a lovely natural setting for family reunions, small corporate picnics, scout outings, and weddings. Our newest park, the Mason Sports Park also offers two shelters. Shelter 1 is on a first come, first serve basis and can seat up to 40 people. Shelter two, which is available for reservation, holds up to 70 people.

Only City of Mason residents may reserve the shelters for use between April 1 and October 31. Proof of residency such as a driver's license and copy of a utility bill is required. Reservations must be made in person at the City of Mason Municipal Center. There is no reservation or deposit fee. The person making the reservation is responsible for cleaning the shelter after use. Shelters not reserved may be used on first come, first serve basis.
Please note that alcoholic beverages are not permitted in any City of Mason parks.

How do I sign my child up for team sports?

How do I learn about programs offered by the Parks & Recreation Department?

Non-residents who are Mason Community Center pass holders are also mailed a copy.
