SPECIAL INTEREST CAMPS

Gymnastics, Cheer, Tumble Camp - NEW!
Gymnasium B

This camp is a gymnastics, cheer, and tumbling fitness camp that provides girls ages 6 and up with opportunities to learn the sport of gymnastics and cheerleading. All participants will take part in learning cheers, chants, motions and jumps, as well as working on skills and mini routines on the bars, beam, floor, and vault. Campers will also be introduced to circuit cardio activities called Fit-Forum. Campers will be divided by age into youth, junior, and senior groups. Campers should bring a lunch, sun block, swimsuit, towel, and water bottle to camp each day.

Safety Camp
Heritage Oak Park Shelter 2

Help your child become aware of what to do in dangerous situations. Safety Camp will teach your child fire safety, first aid, water safety, and animal control along with other life skills. Children will participate in a bike rodeo, nature hikes, and many other fun activities, including a graduation on the last day of camp. This program is sponsored by the City of Mason Police, Fire, and Parks & Recreation departments.

Reds Rookie Success League
Mason Sports Park

As the signature outreach program of the Reds Community Fund, the Reds Rookie Success League (RRSL) enters its fifth season this summer and third season in partnership with the City of Mason. The RRSL is a non-competitive, coed, character-building baseball league for 6- to 12-year olds. Participants receive introductory baseball instruction as well as character-based lessons.

Participants will receive free transportation from designated site pick-ups, free daily lunches, a free field trip to Great American Ball Park for a Cincinnati Reds game, a free hat and uniform shirt, and interaction with Reds players and coaches.

Attention all coaches: we need your help to make this event a success. If you have a love of working with kids and the willingness to make a difference in their lives, please register to be a coach, assistant, or volunteer for this program. Access to all events is free for program volunteers. All volunteers must be fingerprinted and NAYS certified. For more information, contact our volunteer coordinator at 513-229-8555, extension 5514.

Nature Day Camp
Pine Hill Lodge

Treat your child to a week of nature exploration. Each day will have a special theme such as “Beaks, Feet and Feathers,” “Frogs and Polliwogs,” and “Life in a Forest and in a Field.” This is a wonderful opportunity for your child to discover the amazing world of nature.

Circus Camp by Circus Mojo - NEW!
Pine Hill Lakes Park

Circus Camp, presented by Circus Mojo, will teach campers juggling, hat tricks, partner acrobatics, plate spinning, theatrical clowning, and ball, stilt and tight-wire walking. Instructors cater to the personal needs and talents of their campers, bolstering and spotlighting everyone's unique mojo. Students gain respect for themselves and each other as they develop skills as individuals and as an ensemble. At the end of each camp, campers experience the creative process of producing and performing in their own Circus Mojo Show. All levels welcome!

Laffalot Summer Camp
Mason Community Center Field House

Laffalot Summer Camp is a high-energy, high-activity, fun-focused sports and activities program devoted to the physical, emotional, and social development of children ages 6 to 12.

LSC offers day camps specifically developed in girls-only and boys-only formats. The camps are created for any range of athletic ability so that no child is left behind in this all-inclusive program. Activities are designed for large muscle development, which improves balance and overall coordination, is essential for kids at this age, and is the foundation for skill development later. In addition, this program reinforces good social skills by fostering teamwork and group play, all while having fun!

Fishing Camp
Pine Hill Lodge

Get your child hooked on fishing while enjoying a full week of learning the basics! Your camper will develop life skills, responsibility, and respect for the environment while building self-esteem and learning how to fish. By the end of the week, each child will know Ohio fishing regulations, will be fishing on his or her own, and will be able to identify local fish.

Snorkeling Camp
Mason Community Center

If your child enjoys swimming, introduce him or her to another aspect of the aquatics world! Snorkeling Camp introduces campers to the proper use of snorkeling equipment and the skills and techniques associated with snorkeling. All equipment and materials are provided. Participants must bring their own lunch and be ready to swim.
