MEMORIAL DAY ACTIVITIES SET

Memorial Day is set aside for all veterans and this year’s activities are being dedicated to the men and women who served in the World War II era. Leading the annual Memorial Day parade will be Grand Marshals Clifford Carson, Lawrence Meibers, Robert Sundin, and Dale Walker. All four men are WWII veterans and members of Joe Barr American Legion Post 194 in Mason.

All WWII veterans are invited to join the parade. If you are a WWII veteran and planning to participate, please contact the City of Mason at 513-229-8500 so that appropriate arrangements can be made.

The public is invited to the parade, the memorial service that follows, and a downtown concert on Monday, May 31.

The parade will begin at 10 a.m. at the American Legion Hall at 401 Reading Road in Mason. It will end at Rose Hill Cemetery on Mason-Montgomery Road across from the Mason Municipal Center. Following the parade at about 11 a.m., there will be a service at the cemetery. The guest speaker is Tom Ariss, a veteran and retired 16-year Warren County Sheriff. He recently won the Republican nomination for Warren County Commissioner.

The public is also invited to a concert of patriotic music. At about 11:30 a.m., the Mason Community Band will play on the plaza in downtown Mason.
