Protect Yourself Against Current Scams

Protecting the safety and welfare of the community remains a top priority for the City of Mason. Mason Police Department’s Campus Safety Team continues its proactive approach in providing resources, education and tools to protect community members against threats to citizen safety and welfare.

As of June 10, 2025, the City of Mason has received multiple calls from community members who have received spam calls and/or texts from individuals impersonating Mason Police Officers. These spam calls will appear to come from the Mason Police Department’s phone number, 513.229.8560.  Residents are encouraged to remain diligent and not fall victim to these scams.

If you receive a phone call from an individual impersonating a Mason Police Officer, please ask for the name of the individual calling, and hang up and dial the Mason Police Department at 513.229.8560 to confirm that a City of Mason Police Officer is legitimately trying to get ahold of you. Please note that a Mason Police Officer would NEVER request a resident meet them at a suspicious address to receive more information and never call or text a resident indicating a resident has an unpaid ticket and seek a method of payment to pay for the unpaid ticket.

Residents are strongly encouraged to use caution and beware of requests to click on scam links or provide financial/personal information. To verify a City official or report a suspicious call, please call the City of Mason’s Police Department at 513.229.8560.
