The City of Mason is excited to announce a new program geared toward recognizing good behavior amongst its younger residents. The program, named “Good Choices Youth Recognition”, consists of City of Mason police officers issuing tickets to youth participating in good behavior throughout the Mason community. Mason Police Officers will be issuing the Good Choice Ticket to a child or teenager demonstrating good citizenship. Some of the actions officers will look for include wearing a bicycle helmet, using the crosswalk, playing outdoors, and being well-mannered.
Issuing a Good Choice Ticket provides the opportunity for Mason Police Officers to interact with the younger members of the community and also gives children the opportunity to engage in a positive and rewarding interaction with local law enforcement. The Mason Police Department has a long standing commitment to progressive community oriented policing. As a result of this program, children of the City of Mason are reminded to continue making good choices and practice safety.
Recipients of a Good Choice Ticket can present their ticket at one of the five participating sponsors of the program which include the Mason Police Department, Mason Community Center, the City of Mason Golf Center, Culver’s Restaurant and Jansen’s Sweet Sinsations Bakery for a FREE small treat.
The Mason Police Department will distribute Good Choice Tickets throughout the summer season. Thank you to all of the participating sponsors.
