July 4, 2026, marks 250 years since the signing of the Declaration of Independence, a pivotal moment in American history and the journey to freedom. As our nation approaches the 250th anniversary of its founding in 2026, the City of Mason is proud to join communities across the country and the state of Ohio in commemorating this historic milestone.
America 250 is more than a celebration, it is a moment to reflect on our history as a Nation, honor those who shaped it, and imagine the future we want to create for the next generation. The City of Mason is proud to be a designated America 250-Ohio community and looks forward to providing opportunities in 2026 for the community to come together, celebrate our heritage and demonstrate our patriotism.
Contribute to America250 Memory Book
As our yearlong America250 celebration concludes, the City of Mason, in partnership with the Mason Historical Society, invites local businesses, organizations and community members to be part of Mason’s America250 Memory Book. The America250 Memory book will capture and commemorate the many patriotic events, displays, and activities that took place in Mason in honor of America250.
If your business or organization would like to be featured, please contact [email protected] to submit photos and a brief description of your America250 activities and memories. Photo submissions may include decorated storefronts, America250 banners, patriotic décor, event photos, and more! The City of Mason and Mason Historical Society will be collecting America250 memories through Friday, December 18, 2026.
Join the City of Mason in partnership with the American Legion Post 194 for the annual Veterans Day ceremony. As we celebrate 250 years of our nation’s freedom, let us be reminded that the service and sacrifice of America’s veterans made this celebration possible.
The annual Veterans Day Ceremony takes place on Wednesday, November 11 at 6 p.m. at the Mason Municipal Center. Let’s come together to remember, recognize and thank those who have served.
Join the City of Mason in honoring the 1,850 veterans laid to rest at Rose Hill Cemetery through Wreaths Across America. Purchasing a wreath and/or volunteering as part of the wreath laying ceremony is a meaningful opportunity to showcase your patriotism and remembrance in honor of America250.

The Wreaths Across America Wreath Laying Ceremony at Rose Hill Cemetery will take place on Saturday, December 19 at noon. Volunteers are needed to help place the 1,850 wreaths throughout the burial site. Let’s come together to remember the service and sacrifice of those who served our nation. In honor of our nation’s 250th anniversary, community members are invited to complete 250 minutes of community service throughout 2026. This initiative encourages the community to come together to give back in meaningful ways that strengthen our community while honoring the values of service and civic responsibility that define American history. Community members can complete and submit the community service form to [email protected] to receive an America250 themed giveaway.

250 Minutes of Wellness Challenge: Participate in a fun, community wide wellness challenge that encourages participants of all ages to explore the various wellness amenities and recreational opportunities available in the Mason community. Access the America250 wellness challenge by clicking here.
Community members are encouraged to complete at least 15 of the 30 activities outlined in the America250 wellness challenge! Once complete, participants can submit electronically to [email protected] to receive an America250 themed giveaway.
