The public is invited to a Memorial Day Parade and Ceremony in Mason on Monday, May 28, 2018. The 2018 parade will feature Vietnam War veteran Terry McCurley and World War II Veteran Chuck Lonsdale at the parade’s Grand Marshals.
The Memorial Day Parade will begin at 10:00 a.m. at the American Legion Hall Post 194 located at 401 Reading Road. The parade will travel north on Reading Road and Main Street then head south on Mason-Montgomery Road before concluding at the Mason Veterans Memorial. The best viewing area for the parade is along US Route 42 near the Mason Downtown Plaza.
The parade will be followed by a ceremony at the Mason Veterans Memorial beginning at approximately 11:00 a.m. with featured guest speaker Jim Browkaw, Captain and 41-year Navy Veteran.
Following the ceremony, the public is invited to attend a luncheon at the American Legion Post 194.
Kick off the summer season and join us on Saturday, May 26 for the opening of Lou Eves Municipal outdoor Pool! The pool will be open from noon to 8 p.m. throughout Memorial Day weekend. Enjoy a water slide, climbing wall, diving board, zero depth entry, shade structures and concessions! Lou Eves Municipal Pool is open from noon to 8 p.m. daily through August 13.
Active military and veterans can enjoy FREE access to the outdoor pool throughout the Holiday weekend!
The City of Mason would like to say thank you to our Nation’s past and present Military personnel for their service to our country. Throughout Memorial Day weekend, active Military and Veterans are welcome to present their Military ID at Mason Community Center and the Lou Eves Municipal for free access throughout the weekend as well as the City of Mason Golf Center for a free round of golf.
