Music in Mason is back in 2019 with great music and fun for the community to enjoy! The City will be hosting seven concerts on Mason’s Downtown Plaza on Friday evenings throughout the months of June and July. In addition to live music, the events will also feature food, beverages, kids’ activities, local business displays and more!
The 2019 concerts will kick off on Friday, June 7 with a Downtown Block Party beginning at 6:00 p.m. featuring music by Chuck Brisbin and his band playing the best of rock and blues music followed by a mix of pop, funk, and folk music by the Brother Smith Band. Music will continue throughout the evening until 10 p.m. Kids activities, vendors and exhibitors will fill the streets so residents are encouraged to come out and end the work week with a night of live music and entertainment all for a good cause! Proceeds from beverage sales will benefit the Mason Parks and Recreation Foundation’s all-inclusive Common Ground playground and the American Legion’s efforts to rehabilitate a home for veterans in need.
While enjoying Music in Mason, be sure to take advantage of the newly established Designated Outdoor Refreshment Area! Stop in to your favorite participating establishment in the DORA district to enjoy a beverage outside while listening to the music and participating in all the fun activities! For more information on the City’s DORA please visit https://www.imaginemason.org/things-to-do/mason-designated-outdoor-refreshment-area/.
Due to the extent of activities taking place on June 7, road closures will occur to ensure the safety of event participants. US Route 42 from the intersection of North East Street to Second Avenue and West Main Street will close beginning at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, June 7 and July 26 for the Downtown Block Party events. During the other five Music in Mason concerts, US Route 42 will remain open, and West Main Street from US Route 42 to North Forest Avenue will be closed along with North West Street from US Route 42 to Church Street beginning at 3:00 p.m. Detours for local traffic will be provided.
Local businesses are encouraged to take advantage of a free opportunity to promote their business as a vendor or exhibitor at one or all of this summer’s concerts.
