The City of Mason is honoring the life and legacy of Noah Lippeatt – a remarkable young man who left a lasting impact on all who knew him. Noah was a proud graduate of Mason High School Class of 2021 and in 2023, Noah answered the call to service by enlisting in the United States Marine Corps. He approached life from his differences; giving him the power, compassion and resilience to not only become a Marine but to be selected to serve with Marine Barracks 8th and I Washington DC Guard Company as Lance Corporal. Sadly, Noah passed away from a tragic accident in June 2024.
Noah lived by the motto “I’m Built Different.” To him, these words weren’t just a phrase, they were a way of life. Noah faced life’s challenges by staying true to himself and uplifting those around him with an outward smile, sense of humor or small act of kindness. The stories of Noah’s life teach us to embrace what makes us unique, respect perspectives, build empathy and compassion and challenge us to grow beyond our comfort zone. In memory of Noah Lippeatt and in celebration of his values, the City of Mason is proud to introduce Built Like Noah L. Day on October 24, in alignment with Make a Difference Day.

Beginning October 24 through Noah’s birthday on October 31, the Mason community is challenged to take part in an act of service, demonstrate kindness or give back in any way that uplifts others in honor of Built Like Noah L. Day.
Community members are encouraged to take a moment each day and incorporate the below daily prompts into their actions or words as a way to honor Noah’s legacy and keep his spirit alive in Mason.
- Friday, October 24 – Tell someone in your life you appreciate them. A few kind words can make a big impact.
- Saturday, October 25 – Check in with a family member, friend or neighbor you haven’t connected with in awhile. A quick call, text or visit can remind them they’re cared for and not forgotten.
- Sunday, October 26 – Brighten someone’s day with a smile. Smiling is a small act that lifts spirits and spread positivity.
- Monday, October 27 – Participate in a random act of kindness. A random act, no matter how simple, can ripple positivity throughout the community.
- Tuesday, October 28 – Say hello to a stranger. A simple greeting can help the world feel a little warmer.
- Wednesday, October 29 – Help out at a local food pantry or shelter. Consider lending a helping hand to ensure everyone in our community feels supported. *See information below about Mason Community Food Drive.
- Thursday, October 30 – Simply be present for someone in your life today. Listen, engage, and share the moment without distractions. Sometimes just being there is the kindest thing you can do.
- Friday, October 31 – Laugh! Find a reason to laugh today – watch a funny clip, share a joke, or reminisce about a happy memory. A good laugh brightens your day and spreads joy to those around you.
Let’s come together as a community to honor the life and legacy of Noah Lippeatt. By participating in Built Like Noah L. Day, as community members are not only spreading kindness and compassion, we are carrying forward Noah’s spirit and making the Mason community a brighter, more caring place for everyone – just as Noah lived his life.
