Mason is served by Greater Cincinnati Water Works (GCWW), a municipally owned and operated utility since it was purchased by the City of Cincinnati in 1839. GCWW supplies water to the City of Cincinnati and its surrounding Hamilton County, parts of Butler and Warren Counties in Ohio, and Boone County and the City of Florence in Kentucky.
GCWW has always taken the lead in water quality research and technology to protect public health. It operates a nationally recognized state-of-the-art water treatment and research facility. It has an excellent record of meeting or exceeding all state and federal health standards.

Since its inception in 2001, the City of Mason has been leading the way in implementing a regional stormwater management program that complies with the U.S. EPA’s updated stormwater regulations. The city was one of the first in the region to embrace the challenges of stormwater management by establishing a stormwater utility that now maintains the stormwater infrastructure while also overseeing an expanding drainage system in developing areas.
