The City of Mason, led by the Campus Safety Team, will be hosting a Cyber Safety Awareness event inside the Mason Municipal Center on Monday, December 5 at 6:00 p.m. This free event will be held in partnership with TriHealth and Presenter Secret Service Agent Brian Phillips.

Keynote speaker, Secret Service Agent Brian Phillips has a wide range of experiences to credit his National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) Ambassador liaison role. He protected former presidents at their residences, has experience in search warrants executed on child predators, and has experience interviewing a suspected child predator through polygraph examination. Since 2003, Brian has had roles as an investigator, field agent, intelligence agent, polygraph examiner, and cyber agent.

As part of the City’s partners in wellness initiative TriHealth will have available resources to educate the community on the mental health impacts children are vulnerable to in today’s society and digital age.

In 2017, the City of Mason Campus Safety initiative was developed as an effort towards improving safety and advancing the partnership between the City, Mason City Schools, business partners, and the community. In addition to programs like the above, the Campus Safety team also leads initiatives such as the Women’s Protect Self-Defense classes, threat assessments, active assailant and de-escalation training and fraud prevention training. For anyone interested in learning more about these educational programs offered by the Campus Safety Team please contact Lieutenant Jeremy Saylor at [email protected] or by phone at 513.229.8560.
