Trick or Treat hours are 6:00-8:00 p.m. rain or shine. Kids should only be out during the posted hours in the City on October 31. Residents wanting to participate should keep their front porch light on to welcome trick or treater’s. As a reminder, please be mindful and cautious at slow speeds while driving through neighborhoods. As always, a parent should always accompany your children or adult chaperones for larger groups of children.
Some additional safety tips to keep in mind:
- Plan Your Route: Stick to familiar houses with lights on and residential streets with less traffic.
- Illuminate: Use flashlights, glow sticks, reflective tape, and other devices to make you and your children visible at night.
- Have an emergency plan: Carry your cell phone with you in case there is an emergency. Have a plan and a meeting place set up ahead of time if you and any of your children or group get separated. Make sure children know their home address and parent’s phone numbers to assist police if they get lost.
- Dress children appropriately for the weather.
- NEVER let your children eat any candy until you get home and it can be inspected first to make sure it’s safe. Any items that are not sealed or the package is ripped or damaged should be discarded. Anything suspicious found in candy should be reported to Mason Police Department immediately (513-925-2525).
- Have FUN!
