The City of Mason is excited to announce that 2024 Red, Rhythm and Boom will feature alternative rock band, Sister Hazel, followed by a performance by triple-platinum band, Spin Doctors!

Sister Hazel, formed in 1993, was named after Sister Hazel Williams, a local missionary who ran a homeless shelter. The band’s second album, “…Somewhere More Familiar”, was released in 1997 and included the popular hit, “All For You”. With over 3,000 lives shows, including performances at the Grand Ole Opry and the CMA Music Festival, Sister Hazel with surely get the crowd rocking on July 3 in Mason, Ohio!

The second performance of the night will be from the American alternative rock band, Spin Doctors! The Spins Doctor’s debut studio album, “Pocket Full of Kryptonite”, was released in 1991 and became a hit sensation with songs including, “Two Princes” and “Little Miss Can’t Be Wrong”. With an appearance on Saturday Night Live and making the front cover of music and pop culture magazine, Rolling Stones, there is no denying that Spin Doctors is going to provide an electrifying performance.

The City of Mason is thrilled to host both Sister Hazel and Spin Doctors as part of 2024 Red, Rhythm & Boom! Sister Hazel’s performance will begin at 6:00 p.m. and Spin Doctors will follow at 8:00 p.m.

The fun will begin at 4:00 p.m. with access to kid zone activities such as a 9-hole putt-putt course, slides and bounce houses, carnival games, a trackless train, and more! Guests can also enjoy a wide variety of food truck options as well as adult beverages provided by the American Legion available throughout the evening. Stage entertainment will kick off at 6:00 p.m. and will continue throughout the night with a firework display and drone show presented by Rozzi Famous Fireworks at 10:00 p.m.  We hope you can join us!

2024 Red, Rhythm and Boom is FREE (no admission ticket is required). All lawn seating is first come, first serve beginning at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 3. Backstage passes are not available.

Interested in volunteering at the event? Volunteers of all ages and abilities are needed to help make this event a success! Organizations or groups who gather at least ten people to volunteer for a four-hour shift each will receive a $200 donation to their organization or group.

Mason’s Red, Rhythm and Boom will be held rain or shine and will not be rescheduled. In the event of severe weather, updates will be posted on the City of Mason’s social media pages for any cancellations.

The City encourages residents and event participants to download the FREE Code Red Mobile App on their mobile phone to receive up to date weather and safety notifications regarding the event. Lakeside Drive between Mason Montgomery Road and Foxfield Drive as well as Mason Montgomery Road from Foxfield Drive to Lakeside Drive will close beginning at 8:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 3 for event set up. The Mason Municipal Center and Community Center Campus can be accessed using Nixon Park Drive and Foxfield Drive during this time. Detours will be provided.

Mason Community Center will be open from 6:00 a.m. to noon on Wednesday, July 3. The Mason Municipal Aquatic Center will not be open on Wednesday, July 3. Mason Municipal Aquatic Center will be open with normal operating hours on Thursday, July 4.
